Privacy Policy 

At Egin, we collect and manage user data according to the following Privacy Policy. 


If you sign up to our newsletter, please note that all data is handled through Mailerlite : see their Privacy Policy here. From our side, the only information collected is email address and first name, which we collect in order to deliver the newsletter to you. Users must consent to receiving the newsletter, and can unsubscribe at any time – at which point their name and email will be removed from our database.


Data Collected 

We collect anonymous data from every visitor of the Website to monitor traffic and fix bugs. For example, we collect information like web requests, the data sent in response to such requests, the Internet Protocol address, the browser type, the browser language, and a timestamp for the request. 

We also use various technologies to collect information, and this may include sending cookies to your computer. 

Any information when you create an account through our Egin Online Community is processed in line with the Online Community’s privacy policy, which you will be able to read and agree to when you request to join. Any other information you provide to us as part of the Egin programme, for example if you send us an email with your name, email address and other contact information, will be stored according to the DTA Wales Privacy Policy (click here to read). Egin is a programme run by DTA Wales.

Use of the Data 

We only use your personal information to communicate with you about the Website or the Egin programme. 

We employ industry standard techniques to protect against unauthorised access of data about you that we store, including personal information. 

We do not share personal information you have provided to us without your consent, unless: 

  • Doing so is appropriate to carry out your own request; 
  • We believe it’s needed to enforce our legal agreements or that is legally required; 
  • We believe it’s needed to detect, prevent or address fraud, security or technical issues; or 
  • Otherwise protect our intellectual property, legal rights, or that of others. 

 Where your data is stored 

We store your data on secure servers in the UK. 

Sharing of Data

We don’t share your personal information with third parties. Aggregated, anonymised data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve the Website and service. 

We may allow third parties to provide analytics services. These third parties may use cookies, web beacons and other technologies to collect information about your use of the services and other websites, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked and conversion information. 

We also use social buttons provided by services like Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and Facebook. Your use of these third-party services is entirely optional. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of these third-party services, and you are responsible for reading and understanding those third-party services’ privacy policies. 


We take reasonable steps to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. But, you should keep in mind that no Internet transmission is ever completely secure or error-free. In particular, email sent to or from the Sites may not be secure. 

Your Rights 

You can find out what information we hold about you,  and ask us not to use any of the information we collect. Email with any requests.  

If you’ve signed up for email alerts, you can unsubscribe or change your settings at any time by selecting the ‘unsubscribe’ link that appears in every email. 

Google Analytics 

The Egin website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics sets a cookie in order to evaluate your use of our website and compile reports for us on activity on the website. 

Google stores the information collected by the cookie on servers in the United States. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.  By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

This privacy policy only applies to, and doesn’t cover other services and transactions that we link to. These services have their own terms and conditions and privacy policies.
