There was a great turnout for our event which gave information about options regarding electric vehicle charging points at sports clubs and community venues.
The switch from petrol and diesel cars to electric is happening quickly and there is a need for accessible public electric vehicle charging points. Much of the housing stock in Wales is not suitable for home charging points due to the lack of off-road parking and sports clubs and community venues often have car parks that are not fully utilised.
Neil Lewis from Ynni Sir Gar and TrydanNi explained all about the need for charge points, the different types or charge points, costs and added community benefits during his presentation-he knows his stuff! He also mentioned community car clubs and electric bikes as possible dimensions to consider. There were plenty of insightful questions from the attendees which showed that there is a great deal of interest around this subject and taking matters further.
There has been a comprehensive flow of additional information as follow up with the groups who attended and Renew Wales looks forward to offering support to those to want to explore this idea.
