We called it a day to Inspire… Believe… Achieve and our 5th Annual Conference and first ever Awards Ceremony certainly did all that!
A wonderful day of celebration with Lesley Griffiths, AM and Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs and Mick Brown, CEO of Robert Owen Community Banking, sponsors of the Senedd and Awards. The two sessions were led by John Rose of the Lottery and Neil Lewis of Renew Wales and supported by excellent speakers Paul Allen and Amy Cameron, but the stars of the show were definitely the award finalists and winners who demonstrated what it is possible to achieve when you put your mind to it. We had a packed audience of 100 delegates and special guests, all there to celebrate the achievements of Communities and that of Renew, in their fight against climate change. John Rose was particularly pleased to announce further funding for the next two years, which was met with abundant applause! The day was rounded off with a fantastic poetic summary of the day from Emily Hinshelwood who captured the positive buzz and enthusiasm of the day. Thanks to the Big Lottery Fund and the Renew Wales Staff, Coordinators, Mentors, Community Groups and all Stakeholders for making the past five years a tremendous success!
